Welcome to Susan’s Books & Gifts and our Kidzone!

Susan’s Books & Gifts was opened by Stu and Susan Williams in downtown Aurora in the fall of 2001. They have a 7-year old son, Camden. Susan and Stu were both teachers in Arkansas, Minnesota, and California before making the decision to open a bookstore and children’s toy store. Susan grew up in Aurora, then taught middle school in Arkansas, Minnesota, and California. She brings her love and knowledge of children’s books and developmental needs from her experiences with the children. Stu lived as a child in the Congo of Zaire, then moved to the infamous “Chicago Cub” territory. He taught science and math in Arkansas, Minnesota, California, and Nebraska at the high school and college levels. He brings a love of classic literature and his readings and interest in The Great Books program to the bookstore selections.

Susan’s Books carries a diverse inventory, exceptional customer service, and quiet, comfortable surroundings for private reading and study. We special order daily and can usually get books in for customers within a week - with free shipping on special orders that are picked up at the store. We carry an eccentric line of “a little of everything” including mysteries, fiction, children’s, classics, biography, poetry, local interest, cookbooks, journals, and bookmarks.

Susan’s Kidz Zone is full of classic educational developmental toys that are creative, innovative, imaginative. Parents, teachers, daycare providers, and grandparents love to find activities and toys that stimulate our little ones as they play together. We love kids! We love to see kids walk through our door and enter our play area. Bring your kids over!! We can’t wait to meet them and we will continue to search diligently for toys, games, books, and activities that help your kids to grow in all areas of their development.

Susan’s Gifts includes gifts that Susan and Stu have used for gifts and have in their own home. All orders for gifts are wrapped and include a gift card for no charge in drop shipping to a friend or relative, or for local deliveries within Aurora. We love our gift shop and look forward to sending beautiful gifts for you when you need something special, unique, and beautiful.
